Boots
and Speedy Cassie Boots Cassie is a resident of Manalapan, New Jersey and has spent over 30 years involved with horses. She is a founder of the Central New Jersey Horseman's Association, and has been on the New Jersey Palomino Exhibitors Association and is still an active member in both associate, both on a state and national level. Boots is Chairman of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture Equine Advisory Board, as well as the State of New Jersey Agri Tourism Board. Boots and her husband Speedy currently operate a large barn with lessons and boarding as well as breeding and showing both Quarter Horses and Palominos. These horses have shown and won at many of the major shows on the East Coast, winning Futurities in both Quarter horse and Palomino. Their horses have dominated the New Jersey bred show each year in September for the past 10 years. Boots has been a long time supporter of 4-H events both as a judge and clinician.In 2003 she was awarded the Governors Trophy as the Horseperson of the Year for her dedication and work with the 4-H. She is also the coach for the Horse Judging team that goes to the National 4-H Roundup Competition in Louisville, Kentucky and in 2003 placed the team in the top ten for the first time out of 29 states competing. One of Boot's current undertaking is with the New Jersey State Animal Working Emergency Group (AWEG) as chairman of transportation to relocate animals both large and small in the event of a state disaster working hand and hand with the state's (SART) State Animal Response Team. |
